Topic: Immediate Implants in Infected Extraction Sockets

New knowledge regarding the micro-structures of implant surfaces, implant-abutment-connection and overall design development led to predictable immediate implant placements and effect of ultrasonics on bacterial asepsis. This clinical success has opened up a new perspective for the need of implementation of a treatment protocol for implant placement in infected sockets. These infected and inflamed socket might have variable chronic infections like perio-endo, endo- perio, vertical or horizontal fracture only to crowns or extended radicular partial or complete. It is common knowledge that thorough debridement of infected extraction sockets, leads to healthy bone formation and good connective tissue. On the basis of this healing principle, it can be expected that the Implant healing in infected sockets should also be normal, following thorough debridement...

Topic: Demystifying the challenges of Hard & SOFT TISSUE REGENERATION

The achievement of optimum bone regeneration and predictable soft tissue management has been a major challenge for most clinicians. The key for effective hard & soft tissue regeneration is to use appropriate graft materials. Use of PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin) has been scientifically & clinically proven to give the long term predictable results over the past many years. This presentation will give you an overview on PRF concept & technique.

Topic: The Bone of Contention : strategies to minimize crestal bone loss in implant dentistry

Crestal bone loss is a hotly debated topic in implant dentistry. Following second stage surgery crestal bone loss has been observed (Following single stage implant therapy as well) and this bone loss has the potential to progress, bringing about esthetic and functional compromises and eventually the potential to result in peri-implantitis and implant loss. A number of reasons are cited for this, including the muco-periosteal flap, the osteotomy procedure itself, micromovement and bacterial contamination of the implant –abutment interface, and the size of the microgap itself.Research focus over the last two decades has been on strategies to prevent/minimize this bone loss. This presentation reviews the strategies to prevent crestal bone loss and focuses on the concept of platform shift with the help of case studies.

Topic: Laser Sintered Crowns & Bridges

Laser-sintered crowns, bridges, and copings—now produced in India—are increasingly replacing those made with traditional casting and machining. Laser sintering is an additive manufacturing process that "grows" near-net shapes, doing away with costly and timeconsuming tasks such as waxing, investing, divesting, cutting, and grinding. This makes it economical for creating mass-customized crowns and bridges as well as plastic dental models or titanium dental implants. Digital tools are proliferating in dentistry and being used in place of physical impressions and casting. As the technology advances it will be the direction of the future for making dental implant components because it eliminates production steps and cuts material waste. This presentation entails the digitization of lab procedures with emphasis on laser sintered prosthesis.

Topic: FUTURE OF ENDODONTICS

Future of Endodontics is questioned by many clinicians. But lack of understanding of cleaning & shaping leads to failure of root canal treatments. This lecture will elaborate the prognosis of retreatment or treatment for failed root canal treatment. If the technique is followed properly, one can salvage chronic infected tooth with confidence. Every natural tooth which is saved is a natural implant. Every attempt should be made to salvage the natural tooth.
