Lectures, video demonstrations and hands-on surgical experience. The “Hands-on” implant initiation program specifically designed for the beginner clinician who wants to incorporate dental implants into the practice successfully. The aim of this course is to give a ands-on experience with significant theoretical and research inputs. Participants will understand the fundamental principles of dental plants.
This will help to diagnose simple cases for implant therapy and help to plan alternative therapy.

The program will start with a lecture on implant dentistry, understanding osseo-integration and getting familiar with the Implant system components, with key emphasis on clinical parameters involved in successfully integrating implant dentistry in routine practice.

Soft Tissue Management - Implant Positioning, Biologic Width Determination, Different Healing Abutments, Various Flap designs, Suturing techniques.

Prosthetic Procedures - Different ways of Impression taking, Provisional restorations, Tissue conditioning, Abutment selection, mmediate loading principles. Various Implant surgery video demonstration for a single tooth / multiple teeth scenario demonstrating
implant selection, surgical technique, flap design, osteotomy techniques, primary stability, 1 stage and 2 stage and suturing. Thefaculty will also demonstrate the “hands on” protocol for osteotomy and implant placement in a dummy mandible, and explain the surgical technique in detail for the participants. Table Top Hands on for all participants to drill with a implant HP and physiodispensers in a surgically simulated environment and place implants on a dummy mandible. All participants after placing their implants on dummy mandible will also establish abutment connections, using various prosthetic protocols and this will be followed by connecting a impression coping for a closed tray impression technique.

1. Participants are asked to get at least one access cavity prepared and working length estimated maxillary first molar(preferred tooth). Dr. Bajaj will help you in searching 4th canal(MB2). (70-80% of Mx. 1st molars have 4 canals!) Pl. remember, we don’t have

2. The teeth must be freshly extracted, soaked in water and without mounting.

3. Please get your own contra angle handpiece with burs for micro-motor, mirror, tweezers,and probe. Everything else like K-files, rotary/manual HERO files, apex locator, micro-motor, endo-handpiece, EDTA, etc. will be provided by us.

4. It is advised to get 3 IOPAs of each tooth from buccal, mesial and distal side for better understanding.
