  Mr. Marc Diederich is the Product Manager Hygiene for Dürr Dental AG. He has completed his Master of Business Administration and has been working in dental field since 7 years. His areas of focus are Marketing, Sales & Trade, Speciality Health & Medicals.
  Topic: Use of Disinfectants in Dentistry
  For more than 100 years it is generally known that a lack of hygiene in hospitals and dental clinics is accountable for an enormous number of illnesses and deaths. Despite of this undeniable fact the hygiene standard in many dental surgeries is still on a low standard. And the number of people who are ill with harmful virus diseases like Hepatitis B & C and HIV and could spread those diseases is still high by about more than 500 Million people in the world. Based on special form of dental surgeries many risks to spread these diseases lurk. Dental units are covered by the aerosol of patients which contain germs, instruments are used for treatment in touch with mucous membrane and the suction unit is a storage of germs. For that reason hygiene standards and regulations in dental surgeries become more and more prevalent. To reach these standards and regulations disinfectants are the means of choice. Which kind of disinfectants should be used and how to use them for the special form of dental surgeries will be explained during this lecture.
