COURSE TITLE: ADVANCED ENDODONTICS (LECTURE ONLY/LECTURE + HANDS ON)

About Dr. Harsh Haren Shah:- Dr. Harsh Haren Shah (MDS in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics) is an accredited member of the Indian Academy of Aesthetic and Cosmetic Dentistry.
His areas of special interest include single visit endodontics, aesthetic dentistry, surgical endodontics, photography and multi-disciplinary dentistry. Dr. Harsh delivers lectures and conducts workshops on Basic Endodontics, Rotary Endodontics, Post and core and Porcelain Laminate Veneers. He has also authored and co-authored several publications in various national and international journals on topics endodontics and aesthetic dentistry.
He is a key opinion leader for Micromega and Ivoclar Vivadent. He is a winner of the Academic Excellence award from IDA (2012) and the Bronze Award from the International College of Dentists at the Famdent Show, 2012.

REQUIREMENTS FROM PARTICIPANTS: 1. Participants are asked to get at least one access cavity prepared and working length estimated maxillary first molar (for treatment) (We will teach you to search MB2- fourth canal!).
2. The teeth must be freshly extracted, soaked in water and without mounting.
3. Access cavity must be prepared before hand as we don’t have compressor facility at the venue.
4. Please get your own mirror, tweezer, probe, pluggers, contra angle handpiece and burs for micro-motor. Everything else like K-files, rotary treatment files, micro-motor, endo-handpiece, EDTA, GP points, obturation system, etc. will be provided.

COURSE CONTENT: Lecture: It will comprise of root canal treatment with specific emphasis on Post & Core. She will cover case selection, why Post and Core, various treatment options available. The materials available and & how to do a good post and core treatment. The doctor will then explain the step by step procedure incorporating practical tips for a successful root canal treatment.
Demonstration: Step by step procedure of Post and Core on an extracted tooth.

COURSE TITLE: LAMINATES - PREPARATION, IMPRESSION & TEMPORIZATION (HALF DAY)

COURSE CONTENT: Patients with carious, fractured, mal-formed or discoloured teeth frequently present to the Dentist requesting restorations designed to improve their appearance. Ceramic porcelain veneers have emerged as one of the most successful and conservative treatment modalities for creating beautiful smiles. Although technically demanding and product-dependent, if executed correctly, porcelain laminate veneers offer a predictable option for creating a successful restorative treatment that also preserves a maximum amount of tooth structure. In this course, all the fundamental basics required to achieve predictable success with ceramic veneers will be covered along with a step by-step explanation of the clinical procedures involved. We will share clinical experiences related to Preparation design, Impression techniques, Provisionals: Reasons and Techniques and Cementation protocol for the ceramic laminates.
Demonstration: A video presentation along with an explanatory commentary will be shown demonstrating the tooth preparation protocols. A demonstration will be made of impression and temporization.
